Board of Education
The Board of Education at the Las Vegas City Schools is comprised of five elected officials serving four-year terms. These individuals serve on a volunteer basis. The School Board is the policy-making body of the school district. It is responsible for providing an educational program for students attending this school district.

Maricela Hidalgo, Administrative Aide to the Board
Mr. Ernesto Salazar was sworn in by Judge Mathis on Thursday, October 13. He is replacing Mr. Ricky Serna. Mr. Salazar was accompanied by his wife Dyanne, his daughter Rhiannon, and other family members.
Brittney Romero is the 2011-2012 Student Representative for LVCS. She was sworn in by Judge Sandoval while her father, David Romero, Sheryl McNellis Martinez, and the Board were witness to the ceremony.
